Our consulting focus of real estate law practically forms an intersection between the fields of business law, civil law and administrative law. Real property probably is the most important asset of a private family in Germany. The "concrete gold” both serves as an investment and as a living environment in which private life unfolds. At the same time, real property is a commodity which is increasingly gaining significance. Especially in the past few years, the German real estate market has moved into the focus of international financial investors and strategic investment firms, and as a result, portfolios worth several hundred millions of Euros change owners in one fell swoop. And last but not least, real property is always affected by public law issues. For example, if the owner wants to modify the building or change its use, a corresponding planning permission must be obtained. The same applies to the preparation of building projects with respect to planning law, etc. We have placed major emphasis on real estate matters and offer comprehensive advice in all legal fields affecting real property. Our clients include all parties involved in real property in their capacity as builder, developer, investor, architect, building entrepreneur, funds initiator or financing bank. However, we have distinctly taken a stance in favour of the "private” side and do not represent any public authorities in real estate law matters in order to avoid conflicting interests from the outset and to live up to our focus on business interests.
