Commercial Law

Commercial law is characterised by very diverse legal provisions. First, it is covered by a special law, the Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB), relating to, e.g., the law of commercial agencies or special features of commercial transactions of any kind. In many cases, however, the general provisions of the Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, BGB) are additionally and equally applicable. Because of these constant interconnections, an advisor or legal counsel in court has to maintain a clear overview of all factors, for example, when dealing with liability issues.
